I endorse Raz Mason for the SD 26 primary because she and I share a commitment to transparency and open government, bi-partisanship, and collaboration across diverse community groups. These are values I prioritized as the three-term mayor of The Dalles (2013-2019). Raz gets that our rural communities need small businesses based on the latest technology, which also steward our natural resources wisely. She’s dialed into emergency management and protecting our communities from a wide range of disasters. Raz champions veterans and veterans’ health care, which is important to me as a former infantry officer in Vietnam. From her work in VA hospitals, Raz understands the sacrifices of our veterans and the obligation our nation owes its warriors.
